- How to begin the proofreading process
- How to upload your video file
- How to select your proofreading and translation options
- How to access your proofread video
- How to review your video and make script edits
- How to generate your updated video for use
ďťż
How to begin the proofreading process
Begin by clicking the âCreate videoâ button and select the âVideo Translationâ option.
Once in the translation tool, either upload your video to be proofread or click âUse video URLâ. If you choose the video URL option, you can use either a YouTube or Google Drive video link.
After uploading your video or inserting a link, click âCreate proofread.â
ďťż
Select your video proofreading and translation options
Once youâve uploaded your video or inserted your link, youâll be given several options.
ďťż
The tool will auto-detect the language featured in your video, or you can set it yourself. Youâll also need to select the output language for the video youâre translating. You can also set the number of speakers that will be featured and your brand voice. Another option to consider is to âEnable dynamic duration,â which gives HeyGen the power to adjust segment durations to improve translation and video quality. Also, you can use the âTranslate to textâ feature to translate all visible text in your video to your target language.
ďťż
To enhance the accuracy of your translated content by clicking âUpload SRT/ASSâ and upload your original subtitle files.
Once your selections are made, click âSubmit,â and your video will begin processing. The processing speed depends on the size of your video and may take a bit to complete.
ďťż
Access your proofread video
Your processing video will show up in your video library. You can keep track of its progress there.
Then, when itâs ready, youâll be able to review your video
ďťż
Review your video and make script edits
HeyGen will also automatically translate your videoâs script into the selected language.
ďťż
Access your newly proofread video in your library and review your proofread script. Click into it and you can make the changes youâd like to perfect it.
Also, within the script text box, you can select a new voice to narrate your video or create a new voice clone if youâd like.
Youâll love this feature because it allows you to use a voice with more depth, emotion, excitement, intensity, or whatever tone youâd like to set.
ďťż
We highly recommend that you preview your entire video so that you can catch errors in pronunciation. All you have to do is hit the âPreviewâ button and give your video a watch.
ďťż
Additional features you should know
There are a few other features that you should know about as you work to finalize your scripts.
ďťż
The first is the ability to download your scripts for review. Click the three dots at the top of the script editor.
You can download your script in Excel, as a Translation SRT, or as the Original Transcript SRT.
You can then make edits to your script and upload them back into HeyGen when youâre ready by clicking the same three docs and choosing âUpload scripts.â
ďťż
Also in Proofread, you can highlight any word in your script, and it will show you the phonetic pronunciation of any word.
You can also add a pause by clicking on the time icons on the right of the script. When you click it, it will automatically copy the icon and you can place it anywhere in your script.
ďťż
Generate your updated video for use
Once your edits have been made, and youâre happy with your video, you can click âGenerate resultâ and finalize it.
ďťż
Before you generate your result, you can select âInclude captionsâ if youâd like and âTranslate audio onlyâ if youâd prefer that people within your video not lip-sync your script.
