What is HeyGen?
HeyGen is an all-in-one video creation platform that simplifies the process of making professional-quality videos.
With its intuitive interface, powerful editing tools, and a rich library of stock media, HeyGen allows creators of all levels to produce stunning videos with ease. From adding media and editing clips to adding music and voiceovers, HeyGen has everything you need to bring your ideas to life.
How to create a new video project
Once you’ve logged into your HeyGen account, you’ll be directed to the main dashboard. Hover your mouse over the 'Create' button in the top right corner, then select 'Create in AI Studio.'
Select a template
Templates are the fastest way to produce high-quality videos in HeyGen. Each template is professionally designed and includes pre-built layouts, animations, and structure, allowing you to focus on your message rather than starting from a blank canvas.
After opening the AI Studio, look to the right side of the screen and select the Templates button. From here, you can browse available templates.
To use a template, click on the template you want and select Replace Scene. This allows you to pick and choose individual scenes from the template rather than applying the entire template at once. You can replace any scene in your video while keeping the rest of your content intact.
Once the scene is added, you can edit the text and scripts to your liking to quickly create a polished video.
Choose your avatar
To select or change an avatar, start by selecting 'Scene' in the right-hand panel.
From there, select the avatar in the scene and click Replace Avatar. You can then browse and select any avatar you wish.
Edit your script and select a voice
The left-hand panel in the editor is your scripting area. You can click directly into the text box to edit the script manually, select Upload Audio to add a manual voiceover, or choose Scriptwriter to let AI generate a script for you.
To change the voice, hover over the avatar icon within the scripting section, or select Scene in the top right corner of the editor and choose the voice from there.
How to finalize and export your video
Next, you can review all the assets in your video and arrange them as needed.
You can drag clips around, add additional media if required, and more. Once you’re ready, give your video a preview and click Generate in the top right corner.
From here, you can adjust the video export settings, name your video, choose which folder to save it to, and select the resolution, frame rate, and file type. When you’re done, select Submit to finalize your video.
