I have been a Creator Plan subscriber for quite some time, and one of the main reasons I chose HeyGen over competing AI video platforms was the unlimited Avatar III usage that came with the plan.

I built my entire workflow around this feature. As a creator producing content consistently, unlimited Avatar III access was not just a bonus — it was the core reason I stayed subscribed.

This month, I renewed my subscription at the exact same price, under the same Creator Plan name, through the same checkout process. At no point during renewal was I clearly warned that the plan structure had changed. I received no direct email notice, no clear in-app announcement, and no visible warning explaining that Avatar III would become credit-based.

After renewing, I discovered that my account had effectively been shifted into a completely different experience:
the unlimited Avatar III usage was gone and replaced with a credit meter.

This is extremely disappointing and honestly feels unfair to long-time paying users who subscribed specifically because of the unlimited Avatar III feature.

A few honest questions for the HeyGen team and community:

• Why were existing Creator Plan users not clearly notified before these major changes were applied?

• Why are renewing subscribers not being grandfathered into the legacy unlimited Avatar III access they originally paid for?

• Why was there no clear opt-in or confirmation before moving users into a credit-based system?

• Is there any option for affected users to remain on the legacy unlimited plan or request refunds if the service no longer matches what they originally subscribed for?

I completely understand that platforms evolve and pricing models change over time. But quietly changing the core value of a paid subscription after renewal seriously damages user trust.

Many creators, especially smaller creators, simply cannot afford constant per-minute credit usage. Avatar III became popular because it was accessible and creator-friendly. You already have premium paid features like Avatar IV and Avatar V, so removing the flexibility of Avatar III feels unnecessary and harmful for regular users.

If these changes continue, I genuinely believe many creators may leave the platform and begin looking for alternatives like Synthesia and other AI video tools that offer more predictable pricing.

I’m not writing this to attack the team. I actually enjoy using HeyGen and want the platform to succeed long-term. But I strongly believe this rollout was handled poorly and needs reconsideration.

Please reconsider the Avatar III credit changes, communicate transparently with your paying subscribers, and protect the trust of the creators who helped grow this platform.

To other users reading this:
Please check your current Avatar III limits and your account plan carefully. If you were moved to a credit-based system unexpectedly after renewal, share your experience as well. The more users who speak up together, the more likely this issue will be addressed properly.

Sincerely request you to please reconsider the recent changes made to Avatar III.
