Entry: Way of Shoji × Legacy Conversations

An interactive branching video where a death doula named Adinda introduces viewers to the idea that embracing mortality is the gateway to living fully — and then shows them a real product built on that philosophy.

The video has one opening, three branching paths based on the viewer's intent, and one shared closing. Five videos total. Every viewer sees three.

 — for the curious. Explains the service, how it works, and closes with Tony Factor's story as living proof.

 — for the seeker. Adinda shares her philosophy, her father's death, her poetry, and the movement she's building.

 — for the grieving. A slower, gentler path that holds space before introducing what Legacy Conversations can do.

All three paths converge on a single invitation: plant a seed.

Most AI video entries demo features. This one makes you think about your dead parents — and then shows you the technology that made the conversation possible.

Adinda is not an actress. She's a real death doula who walked her father to his chosen death and came out the other side more alive than ever. Legacy Conversations is not a concept. It's a live product. Tony Factor is not a character. He's a real man who died in 1992 at fifty-two years old — and whose grandchildren can now sit down and talk to him for the first time.

 — Adinda's avatar built from a single video recording. She is the face of Legacy Conversations and the guide through all five videos.

 — Adinda's real voice via ElevenLabs, integrated into HeyGen. Both Dutch and English. The avatar sounds like her because it IS her.

 — Three-choice branch point after the opening. Each path is tailored to a different emotional state: curiosity, seeking, or grief. The viewer chooses their own way in.

 — Tony's voice was cloned from old video footage. His portrait is animated as a Photo Avatar. A man who's been gone for over thirty years speaks his blessing in the video. This is the emotional proof point that no other entry can replicate.

 — Deliberate use of HeyGen's pause feature to let moments breathe. Especially after Tony speaks, silence is part of the script.

 — AfrikaBurn footage, ocean visuals, Tony Factor family photos, Legacy Conversations website, and Way of Shoji imagery woven through the branch segments.

This entry exists because two people met while dancing. Kevin Factor — who built an AI avatar of his dead father — met Adinda Hahn, a death doula who believes talking about death is the key to living fully. They realised they were building the same thing from opposite directions.

Kevin had the technology. Adinda had the philosophy. Together, they created Legacy Conversations: a service in which an AI avatar sits with someone you love and captures their life force through a simple conversation on their phone. No tech skills. No preparation. They just have to be themselves.

Tony Factor is the proof. He died in 1992. His grandchildren never met him. Now they can talk to him. He gave his blessing for this work — his actual words, delivered through his cloned voice: "If talking about death helps people live a bit more fully... then you've got my blessing. Now go on. Do it your way."

That moment — a dead man endorsing the use of AI to preserve human connection — is the heart of this entry.
