I’m trying to create a LiveAvatar in HeyGen using an AI image of myself and my custom cloned voice.

For LiveAvatar upload, I need the video to include a section at the end where the avatar appears to be listening silently for around 15 seconds - ideally with natural facial expressions such as nodding, smiling, blinking and small listening gestures.

In HeyGen, the avatar video seems to need a script/audio input, so I’m struggling to create a clean 15 seconds of silence at the end without the avatar freezing, jumping, or looking unnatural.

1. Generate the avatar video in HeyGen with my custom voice.

3. Add a freeze frame / extended silent section at the end in Final Cut Pro.

4. Export that version and upload it as the LiveAvatar video file.

This works technically, but the finished LiveAvatar result is not perfect because the silent section can look too still or slightly unnatural.

Has anyone found a better workflow for this?

- Can HeyGen generate 15 seconds of silent listening behaviour using gestures only?

- Is there a recommended way to add silent pauses without the avatar freezing?

- Are there gesture prompts or script formatting methods that work best, such as [nod], [smile], [pause], or similar?

- Is it better to create the silent section inside HeyGen, or edit it externally in Final Cut Pro?

- What export settings are best if preparing the video for LiveAvatar upload?

How can I create a HeyGen LiveAvatar video with 15 seconds of silent listening at the end?
