In the most recent update, the visuals, avatars, and voice overs created by HeyGen are so much worse.

I used to be able to provide a script like the one below, and it would provide really awesome professional flat illustrations. Now, the illustrations are all over the place. The code used in the illustrations doesn't match what I ask it to use, the video jumps from one illustration to the next way too quickly, the motion of the illustrations makes no sense, the output of code displayed in illustrations doesn't match reality, etc. This used to work flawlessly!

The Avatar (Zayne) now looks much worse and his intonation is much worse. It used to sound very professional, but now it sounds very much like an AI bot.

Basically, whatever HeyGen did with it's recent update made the video creation unusable for professional presentations.

Use a clean flat design with a professional, educational feel so the illustrations looks like PowerPoint slides including titles. Include motion when appropriate. Illustrations must use proper Python syntax when showing code.

In this part of the lesson, we'll learn how to sort DataFrames to organize data in meaningful ways.

Sorting is one of the most fundamental operations in data analysis. When you have thousands of rows, finding patterns, identifying top performers, or spotting outliers requires organizing the data in a logical order. Whether you're analyzing sales figures, employee salaries, or customer data, sorting makes the information easier to understand and act upon.

Before we begin sorting, we need to set up our environment. Run the first code cell to import pandas and configure display settings.

pd.set_option('display.max_columns', None)

These settings ensure all columns and rows are visible and numbers display with commas and two decimal places.

Now run the next code cell to create a sample DataFrame containing product sales data.

    'product': ['Laptop', 'Mouse', 'Keyboard', 'Monitor', 'Webcam'],

    'year': [2023, 2024, 2023, 2024, 2023]

This DataFrame will help illustrate how sorting works.

To sort a DataFrame, we use the sort values method. The simplest use of this method sorts by a single column in ascending order by passing the column name as a list to the "by" parameter. Run the next code cell to sort the DataFrame by price.

The sort values method automatically sorts in ascending order, which means lowest to highest. Notice that the Mouse row, with a price of twenty five, now appears first. The Laptop row, with a price of twelve hundred, appears last.

If we want to sort in descending order, meaning highest to lowest, we set ascending equal to False. Run the next code cell to see this.

df = df.sort_values(by=['price'], ascending=False)

Now the most expensive product, the Laptop at twelve hundred, appears first, and the least expensive product, the Mouse at twenty five, appears last.

We can also sort by multiple columns. This is useful when you want to organize data hierarchically. For example, you might want to sort employees first by department, then by salary within each department.

To control the sort direction for each column, we provide a list of Boolean values to the ascending parameter. Each value maps directly to a column in the "by" list.

Run the next code cell to sort the DataFrame first by year in descending order, then by price in ascending order.

df = df.sort_values(by=['year', 'price'], ascending=[False, True])

Notice that the DataFrame is now first sorted by year in descending order, so twenty twenty four appears before twenty twenty three. Within each year, the data is then sorted by price in ascending order. This approach is especially useful for organizing data in a hierarchical or grouped manner.
