I am writing this as a long-term HeyGen user who relies heavily on the platform for producing structured, long-form educational and exhortational content. Unfortunately, the continual amendments to the HeyGen user interface are making the platform progressively harder—not easier—to use.

This is not a minor inconvenience. It is now actively impeding productivity.

The “Text-to-Video Studio” Is Now Hidden Behind Multiple Layers

Previously, accessing the core “Text-to-Video Studio” was straightforward. Today, I had to contact support simply to find where to click.

From the landing page, it is now approximately six clicks deep.

This violates one of the most fundamental usability principles: the primary function of a platform should be immediately accessible.

When the central tool is buried, users waste time navigating rather than creating.

The new interface introduces serious readability problems.

This is not a matter of preference. At standard scaling, key interface elements are extremely small and difficult to distinguish.

This raises significant accessibility concerns:

On high-resolution displays, the problem is even worse.

Modern UI design should scale intelligently across resolutions. This currently does not.

The input field is physically tiny—what can only be described as an “iddy-biddy” space—making it impractical for structured content creation.

Long-form content creation is one of HeyGen’s most powerful use cases. Artificially constraining it undermines the platform’s value.

Landscape output—essential for YouTube, presentations, and educational content—is currently unreliable.

This is not a niche use case. Landscape is the dominant format for most video platforms. HeyGen's default is Portrait.

When landscape support breaks, it renders the platform unusable for serious publishing workflows.

The current design feels like it prioritizes novelty over usability.

Essential tools hidden behind multiple menus

Good UI design should reduce friction. This increases it.

Frequent UI Changes Disrupt Established Workflows

Constant interface changes prevent users from building stable workflows.

This results in lost productivity and frustration.

Stability is an essential feature—not an optional one.
