Hello everyone, we’d love to hear about your experience. We’re an agency, and we regularly run into inconsistent results and product changes that affect the quality we promise our clients, which makes the platform hard to use at scale.

It is extremely frustrating and I hate to say it, but our love story with HeyGen might be coming to an end soon.

 This has been the biggest disappointment. When we subscribed, Gesture Control was clearly promoted as an available feature. For those unfamiliar: it’s a fantastic capability (works with Avatar III) that lets you select a specific segment of the original video for the scene you want. We planned and ran a full production day with our client based on this feature. To our surprise, after subscribing, we found out it wasn’t actually working. Months later, HeyGen support still can’t say when it will return. Honestly, it feels like we were misled.

 Lately, I’ve noticed the lip-sync quality has worsened, even though I’m using the same avatar. For example, the avatar often doesn’t form the “O” mouth shape, the mouth stays closed while the audio continues. Avatar IV has also started producing unrealistic, overly exaggerated movements, which damages the whole scene and burns credits on unusable output. (and there is no way to control and guide the model)

Between the missing Gesture Control in Avatar III and the declining consistency of Avatar IV, it’s getting harder to use HeyGen reliably for paid client projects

 This isn’t a deal-breaker on its own, but it adds to the overall sense of unreliability. Every now and then, the page goes down.

 We feel powerless and frankly a bit hopeless. There doesn’t seem to be a clear plan to address these issues. Each time we contact support, they don’t seem to have concrete answers.

We genuinely love HeyGen, but it feels like the company is facing serious internal challenges that it hasn’t been able to overcome. You can sense it in support conversations and in how the product has evolved over the past 12 months.
