We’re integrating Create Avatar Video (V2) - POST <https://api.heygen.com/v2/video/generate>.

- character: either { type: "avatar", avatar_id, … } or { type: "talking_photo", talking_photo_id }

- voice: { type: "text", voice_id, input_text: "<full script>" }

- Top-level caption: true when we want burned-in subtitles (boolean only; we’re on OpenAPI 4.x where caption is boolean).

We persist caption: true/false from our DB and log the exact JSON we send; the API returns 200 and a video_id, but the delivered MP4 has no visible captions, even when caption was true. We’re trying to confirm whether that’s expected.

1. For avatar and talking_photo Studio videos with voice.type: "text", should caption: true produce on-video captions, or is support limited / best-effort?

2. The reference schema describes caption as “Whether to enable captions in the video. Only supported for text-based input.” — does “text-based input” mean something other than voice.type: "text" (e.g. only certain pipelines or non-avatar flows)?

3. If inline captions aren’t guaranteed for our setup, what is the supported path (e.g. template API, separate caption endpoint, or a specific video_inputs shape)?

caption: true on POST /v2/video/generate doesn't work. Anybody know why?
