What are video assets?
So, what are video assets? Video assets include any media you use in your videos—images, video clips, audio files, logos, and AI avatars.
Supported video formats include .jpg and .png up to 200MB; .mp4 and.mov up to 200MB; and .ttf and .otf up to 100 MB.
Organizing these assets in HeyGen makes your projects run smoothly, so you’re always ready to create with confidence.
Upload and organize your assets
Start by uploading all the media you need into HeyGen’s asset library.
Organize your files by creating folders for different projects, brands, or types of content. This way, everything is in one place and easy to find. If you want to use a .gif, convert it to an .mp4 before adding it to the video editor.
Use your assets
You can then use the assets you’ve collected directly in your video projects.
Simply drag and drop your library's images, video clips, and audio files into your video timeline. To display multiple elements, click on the 'expand' button. Elements cannot span across scenes.
Need to add a logo or a specific graphic? No problem—just pull it from your organized library.
Reuse assets for consistency
Reuse assets to maintain brand consistency and save time. You can also save your video as a template to scale your randed content production.
With HeyGen, you can easily pull up assets from previous projects. This is perfect for keeping your branding consistent across multiple videos, like using the same logo, intro, or background music.
Manage AI avatars and voiceovers
HeyGen allows you to save your favorite avatars and voices, so you can quickly add them to any new project.
This not only saves time but keeps your messaging consistent across videos.
Share and collaborate
HeyGen makes it easy to share to share and embed videos.
You can also invite collaborators to access your video, avatars, and other video assets. To do this, you must set sharing settings within your folders, avatars, and videos. You can also create a joint space and add users to the space as needed.
You can collaborate in real time by giving team members access to specific files in your asset library, so they can contribute and use the same files for their video projects.
Asset organization tips
As you ramp up your use of HeyGen, you’ll probably upload and create numerous assets along the way.
Here are a few organizational tips to keep you working in a flow.
Name your folders and files clearly
Name your folders and files clearly for easy identification.
As you upload your video assets and publish new videos, the best practice is to create a naming convention for both folders and video assets.
To keep videos organized, you can add them to Folders by hovering over a specific video and ‘Move to’ the Folder of your choice. You can also create ‘Brand Kits’ and add logos, images, and videos to them.
Then, when you upload images and videos to HeyGen, all you have to do is click on their file names and rename them.
