If you choose the video URL option, you can use either a YouTube or Google Drive video link. </p><p> After uploading your video or inserting a link, click ‘Create proofread.’</p><h3><br></h3><h3>Select your video proofreading and translation options</h3><p>Once you’ve uploaded your video or inserted your link, you’ll be given several options.</p><img alt="some-file-dbb0d9b7-7f8e-435d-8300-6fd0bb11b08d" src="https://d2xo500swnpgl1.cloudfront.net/uploads/heygen/some-file-dbb0d9b7-7f8e-435d-8300-6fd0bb11b08d-1728244050673.gif"><p>The tool will auto-detect the language featured in your video, or you can set it yourself. You’ll also need to select the output language for the video you’re translating. You can also set the number of speakers that will be featured and your brand voice. </p><p>Another option to consider is to ‘Enable dynamic duration,’ which gives HeyGen the power to adjust segment durations to improve translation and video quality. Also, you can use the ‘Translate to text’ feature to translate all visible text in your video to your target language. </p><p>Dynamic duration allows the translation process to adjust segment durations for improved translation and audio quality. Disable if you require a fixed duration for the translation.</p><img alt="some-file-5c257a12-1383-4b92-bc99-965c5881e022" src="https://d2xo500swnpgl1.cloudfront.net/uploads/heygen/some-file-5c257a12-1383-4b92-bc99-965c5881e022-1728244076646.gif"><p>To enhance the accuracy of your translated content by clicking ‘Upload SRT/ASS’ and upload your original subtitle files.</p><p>Once your selections are made, click ‘Submit,’ and your video will begin processing. The processing speed depends on the size of your video and may take a bit to complete.</p><h3><br></h3><h3>Access your proofread video</h3><p>Your processing video will show up in your video library. Click the three dots at the top of the script editor.</p><p>You can download your script in Excel, as a Translation SRT, or as the Original Transcript SRT. </p><p>You can then make edits to your script and upload them back into HeyGen when you’re ready by clicking the same three docs and choosing ‘Upload scripts.’</p><img alt="some-file-94265636-f8db-4875-97ba-13104543a468" src="https://d2xo500swnpgl1.cloudfront.net/uploads/heygen/some-file-94265636-f8db-4875-97ba-13104543a468-1728244239276.jpeg"><p>Also in Proofread, you can highlight any word in your script, and it will show you the phonetic pronunciation of any word.</p><h3><br></h3><h3>Generate your updated video for use</h3><p>Once your edits have been made, and you’re happy with your video, you can click ‘Generate result’ and finalize it. </p><img alt="some-file-9556a50b-fe93-400f-b73e-cee0d012a85e" src="https://d2xo500swnpgl1.cloudfront.net/uploads/heygen/some-file-9556a50b-fe93-400f-b73e-cee0d012a85e-1728244269939.gif"><p>Before you generate your result, you can select ‘Include captions’ if you’d like and ‘Translate audio only’ if you’d prefer that people within your video not lip-sync your script.</p><p><br></p><h3>How to grant free Proofreader roles</h3><p>Want a native speaker to verify that your translations are 100% accurate? You can now hire a freelance Proofreader from HeyGen's network of certified Proofreaders on <a href="https://contra.com/heygen" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Contra</a> or another service and grant them a Proofreader role for free. </p><p>First, head to the Projects tab and ensure that the project requiring Proofreading help is in a folder. Next, click the three dots on the righthand side of the folder and select 'Collaborators.'</p><p>Enter the email address associated with the Proofreaders' account and click the 'Invite' button. Your Proofreader will need to have a HeyGen account of any plan type in order to access your project.
