As a HeyGen Video Editing Expert, you may be asked to create custom templates for new HeyGen customers. While customers’ needs for templates may vary, most will have the following:

  1. Professional Layout: clean and visually appealing designs that align with the brand's identity
  2. Customizable Branding: brand colors, fonts, and logos or placeholders for logos
  3. Dynamic Elements: simple animations, transitions, or interactive elements that capture attention without overwhelming the viewer
  4. Segmentation: distinct sections and layouts for different uses and assets


When creating a custom template, keep the following specs in mind:

  1. Landscape dimensions: 16:9 - 1920x1080
  2. Vertical dimensions: 9:16 - 1080x1920
  3. Accepted filetypes:
  4. JPG, PNG, SVG up to 200MB
  5. MP4, MOV up to 200MB
  6. TTF, OTF up to 100MB

Create two HeyGen templates for the two following use cases. Once complete, upload both files below.

#1: a McDonald’s menu offering of your choice

  1. Orientation: vertical, for social media
  2. Video type: branded social media ad that will include
  3. Design notes: review brand guidelines here, download McDonald’s logos here and download images of products here
  4. Text considerations: none
  5. Assets to be included: combination of Golden Arches Logo and wordmark, menu item
  6. Accessibility considerations: leave space in the bottom footer for captions


#2: internal security training video for HeyGen employees

  1. Orientation: landscape
  2. Video type: internal training
  3. Design notes: download logos, fonts, colors and review brand guidelines here
  4. Text considerations: none
  5. Assets to be included: HeyGen logo
  6. Accessibility considerations: none
