Guiding Question - How do you keep your audience engaged?

Think of your video like a sleek, high-performance car—it may look incredible, but it’s no fun to drive if it’s stuck in stop-and-go traffic.

The same applies to pacing in your video. Once you’ve nailed its visual style, it’s time to focus on its flow. A good pace effortlessly holds your viewers’ attention, avoiding abrupt starts and stops.

A well-paced video has a natural rhythm that keeps things dynamic and engaging. A great rule of thumb is to create moments of interaction or excitement every 20-30 seconds, or as we say, "spark the curiosity." This keeps the viewer interested and ensures they stay engaged from start to finish.

By changing the screen every 20-30 seconds, we can keep the viewer engaged and curious about what’s coming next.

However, it’s important not to overdo it. Too much movement can turn into noise and overwhelm your audience. Keep it subtle and let your key points guide the design, just as they do with your script and visuals.

Here are three simple ways to create pacing in your video:

Reflection:

Review your script and plan what should appear on screen at each moment. Think about how you can "spark curiosity" or create engaging moments to emphasize your main points and recapture your viewer’s attention throughout the video. Which of the methods discussed above would align best with your content and keep your audience engaged?
