What are HeyGen Brand Kits?
Wondering what HeyGen’s Brand Kits are? Let’s break it down.
HeyGen Brand Kits include everything you need to represent your brand the right way—approved logos, color palettes, fonts, images, videos, audio files in one place and Brand Voice to ensure consistent pronunciation for those translating videos to other languages.
Brand Kits will be essential as you build out your video library. Note that it’s a best practice to create one Brand Kit per language, even if you’ll be creating a single video and translating it into many languages.
The reason? Video footage and assets will most likely differ per the country that your content is directed toward. The more strategically you build out your Brand Kits, the better.
How to get started with Brand Kits
In HeyGen, click on the Brand Hub tab.
You’ll notice that you’ll be taken into a hub where you can create your first ‘Brand Kit.’
Click ‘New Brand Kit” to get started.
When you click on ‘New Brand Kit,’ you’ll have two options:
Add your brand’s website
By selecting this option, HeyGen will automatically extract logos, colors, photos, fonts, and videos from your website to create a complete brand kit. If you need to make any adjustments to the elements, you can easily do so after the kit is created.
Simply enter your brand’s website in the designated field, and wait a few minutes for the extraction process to complete.
Once finished, you’ll find the brand kit ready for review and adjustments.
Set up manually
This option allows you to manually upload and configure your logos, colors, photos, fonts, and videos.
Begin by giving your Brand Kit a name. Go to the new Brand Kit, click on the name, and enter a new name. As you do, keep in mind a file structure that will keep you organized, and then duplicate it as you create more Brand Kits.
Add assets to your Brand Kit
Next, it’s time to start adding assets to your Brand Kit.
Begin by adding your logo, then your colors, fonts, images, and videos.
Your logo and images can be a jpg, png, tiff, or Webp files.
Video files must be MP4s, MOVs, and WEBMs.
Applying your Brand Kit to a video
Once all of your assets are uploaded, you can then use your Brand Kit in any video you’d like.
Let’s create a project from scratch and then apply the Brand Kit we’ve created.
Click ‘New video’, ‘Start from scratch’, and then ‘Create landscape video or 'Create portrait video.'
Next, click the ‘Assets’ tab and select the Brand Kit that’s been created.
You can then apply your assets to the video you’re creating.
If you’d like to use a template for a video, you can also access your Brand Kits from the ‘Assets’ tab and apply them the same way.
Deleting a Brand Kit
Want to delete a Brand Kit?
Just click ‘Brand Hub’ in HeyGen, and then click on the three dots corresponding to the ‘Brand Kit’ you’d like to delete.
How to use Brand Voice to ensure consistent pronunciation across translations
Brand Voice is a feature for video translation that lets you customize translations to match your brand's identity and ensure consistency throughout your videos. With Brand Voice, you can control which words stay the same, which words should be assigned a specific translation or pronunciation, and even set the tone of your translations. For example, consider words you don't want to be tarnslated, such as brand names, product names, or technical terms you want to remain consistent across various languages.
For step-by-step instructions on how to implement Brand Voice, see this Brand Voice guide.
