Our Free plan is perfect for those just starting out. You can create up to 3 videos per month, each up to 3 minutes long.

But if you need more, our Creator plan offers unlimited video creation up to 5 minutes long, 1080p exports, and watermark removal.

For teams, our Team plan provides unlimited videos up to 30 minutes long, a brand kit for design consistency, a multi-user workspace, and faster video processing.

And for large organizations, our Enterprise plan offers unlimited videos with no duration limits, 4k exports, custom Studio Avatars, and enterprise-level security.

Each plan scales with your growth, ensuring you have the tools you need at every stage of your video creation journey.

Create a HeyGen account

Ready to get started with HeyGen? Let’s create your HeyGen account.

First, visit www.heygen.com.

In the top right corner, click ‘Get Started.’

Next, enter your email address. We recommend using a work email for easy collaboration with your team. Press ‘Send Code’ and then check your email to verify your account. 

Alternatively, you can log in with your Google or Facebook account.

And that’s it! You now have access to a free HeyGen account, which you can upgrade at any time to unlock even more video creation possibilities.

Create your first video in HeyGen

Let’s create your first avatar video in HeyGen. We’ll select a template, change the background color, choose an avatar, and update their voice.

It all begins when you click ‘Create Video.’

Then, we’ll select ‘Avatar Video.’

Next, click ‘Start with a template.’

Select the template of your choice and then click into it.

Once you’re in the template, click ‘Create with AI Studio.’ You’ll then be taken into the video editor, and you can begin customizing your template.

Change the avatar by going to the ‘Avatar’ tab and choosing between ‘Public Avatars’ or your own custom ‘Instant Avatar’ under ‘My Avatar.’

For this video, let’s select a ‘Public Avatar.’ Scroll down and choose a ‘Public Avatar”, making sure they’re not ‘Premium.’

Next, let’s update the avatar’s voice within the template by clicking on the script on the timeline. Click on each portion of the script and select a voice right above the script text box.

So far, we’ve selected a template, changed the background color, chosen an avatar, and updated their voice.

Let’s add some background music. 

If the template already includes a music track, click it in the video timeline. Then, click the ‘Elements’ tab and scroll down to ‘Music’. Select the track you’d like to add to your video.

Once you’re done editing, click ‘Preview’ to preview the voice reading of your script.

Please note, the preview won’t apply to lip sync but will show the canvas, assets, and effects.

Now that you've customized your video to perfection, it's time to submit it for processing. Please note that submitting your video will deduct 1 video credit from your account if you're on a free trial plan or plan that does not have unlimited pricing.

When you’re ready, hit the ‘Submit’ button, you’ll be offered a variety of video options including naming your video file, placing the video in one of your ‘Folders’, and choosing its resolution and format.

Click ‘Submit’ and you’re set.

Great job! You’ve created your first video with HeyGen. You can now share it by downloading the file or sharing via the HeyGen link.

Edit a video in HeyGen

In addition to creating videos in HeyGen, you can use the built-in editor to make your videos exactly how you want them. Here’s how.

Want to add text or subtitles? No problem. 

Click the ‘Text’ tab on the left. Here, you can type in your text, adjust the font, size, and position. If you need subtitles, use the ‘Subtitles’ option to auto-generate or add your own.

To make your video more engaging, let’s add some music or voiceover.

Go to the ‘Audio’ tab, upload your audio file, or choose from HeyGen's built-in library. You can even record a voiceover directly in the editor.

Please note that .mp3s are supported for audio and .mp4s for video and audio. If you want to strip audio from an existing .mp4, you can do so in the AI Studio Video Editor.

Once you’ve made your edits, hit the ‘Preview’ button to watch your video. If everything looks good, hit ‘Submit’ and you’ll get an email when it’s ready to be viewed and shared.

Translate a video in HeyGen

HeyGen can translate your videos into over 150 languages, helping you reach a global audience. Here’s how to translate your video using HeyGen.

Begin by clicking ‘the Create Video’ button.

Then select ‘Video Translation’ and you’ll have the option to either insert your YouTube or Google Drive video link or upload a video and click ‘Create new translation.’

Now, select the language you want to translate your video into.

Your video will be translated, which may take a little time depending on how large your video file is.

The translated video will show up in your Video Library once processed. 

Give the video a full review, and if it’s ready to go, share it with the world!
