Why use templates?

Templates are pre-designed video templates that will help you get started quickly. 

No need to create everything from scratch—you can simply customize the template to suit your needs.

You can also use the assets that you have uploaded and Brand Kits you’ve created to match your brand’s look and feel.

How to access the template library

Access the template library by simply clicking on the ‘Template’ tab in HeyGen.

Once there, you’ll be able to browse through lots of templates. You can either look at all use cases at once or filter by the type of project you’ll be working on.

How to edit a template

Select a template and click on it, then select ‘Create with AI Studio.’

You’ll be taken to the template, where you can select a new avatar, change the background, insert your script, add music, and more.

How to change your background and avatar

Change your background and Avatar by clicking on each element and selecting replacements from your HeyGen Library.

Let’s change the color of the background real quick—and here you can choose from a wide variety of avatars.

How to edit the script

You can also easily rewrite the script by clicking into any frame and editing the script.

You can also rewrite your script with the help of AI by clicking on the three dots and selecting ‘GBT script writer.’

How to change or add music

Some templates come with music, but you can always delete it, swap it out with one of the tracks in our ‘Element’ library, or upload one of your own.

Want to delete a track? Simply, highlight the track in the video timeline and click the three dots on the far right side—then select ‘Delete.’

To select a music tracks in the HeyGen ‘Element’ library, you can click ‘Element’ on the sidebar menu and then scroll down to the music section.

To upload your own, click on ‘Asset’ on the side menu and then click ‘Upload Asset.’

How to review and submit your video

Once you’re done adjusting the template, all you have to do is ‘Submit’ your video, select its resolution, and wait for a notification or an email confirming that your video is ready.

Video output times vary depending on the length of the video and its file size.
