For example, consider words you don’t want to be translated. This is particularly useful for brand names, product names, or technical terms that you want to remain consistent across various languages.&nbsp;Or, you can force translation for words to correct subtle inconsistencies that may arise due to language-specific nuances. A perfect example are words like “artificial intelligence” that you want to be translated into the acronym “AI”.Finally, the ability to set the tone you want to be associated with your brand voice is essential so that your video translations will best resonate with your target audience. Of course, providing pronunciation instructions is a must to keep your messaging professional and easy to understand.<img alt="some-file-e52bea3b-a643-4073-b2f2-4e55d8eba97a" src="https://d2xo500swnpgl1.cloudfront.net/uploads/heygen/some-file-e52bea3b-a643-4073-b2f2-4e55d8eba97a-1729035983656.gif"> <h3>How to get started with Brand Voice</h3>There are two ways to create a Brand Voice in HeyGen: through the Brand tab or when creating a new video. To set up Brand Voice in the Brand tab, start by logging into your HeyGen account and clicking the 'Brand' in the left navigation bar. If you're creating a new Brand Voice, click "New Brand Kit" in the top righthand corner.<img alt="some-file-607827e9-1d45-4241-bb45-0082a3c10c56" src="https://d2xo500swnpgl1.cloudfront.net/uploads/heygen/some-file-607827e9-1d45-4241-bb45-0082a3c10c56-1737588121527.gif"> If you're adding a Brand Voice to an existing Brand Kit, click on the desired Brand Kit and navigate to the 'Voice' tab.<img alt="some-file-9f30f8ec-6611-4644-8f58-b9df4cafe693" src="https://d2xo500swnpgl1.cloudfront.net/uploads/heygen/some-file-9f30f8ec-6611-4644-8f58-b9df4cafe693-1737588451641.gif"><img> Add a writing sample to capture your ideal tone in the 'Brand Tone' section.Under the 'Pronunciation' section, phonetically spell out how you'd like certain words to be pronounced if your generations are not pronouncing them correctly. This can be especially helpful for names, numbers, or acronyms. Under the 'Translation' section, add any words you don't want to be translated or words that you wish to be translated in specific ways. The way to set up a Brand Voice is to click on ‘Create Video’ and then select ‘Video Translation.’You’ll be taken to a screen that asks you to upload a video or submit a video link.To get started click on ‘New Brand Voice’ and you’ll be given a handful of options. You can list words that you don’t want to be translated and those that you wish to be translated into specific words in any language. You can also set the desired tone of your video translation using specific keywords, and instruct HeyGen to pronounce specific words via phonetic spelling. If you have a CSV of words and pronunciations, you may upload it by clicking 'Upload CSV.'<img alt="some-file-461785b8-9ff0-43bc-9d38-eab4ec59d4ed" src="https://d2xo500swnpgl1.cloudfront.net/uploads/heygen/some-file-461785b8-9ff0-43bc-9d38-eab4ec59d4ed-1729036080180.gif"> <h3>Create a new translation using your new Brand Voice</h3>Once you’ve defined your new Brand Voice, click on ‘Create new translation.’ It’s important to note that it’s a best practice to create a separate brand voice for each language because the assets you upload and store within your brand voice file will differ between languages. This will keep you more organized and streamline your process.You can then select the target language and the locale, define how many speakers are in your video, and select your Brand Voice with a quick click.There are a few other optional settings you can choose. For instance, translating audio only without the lip-syncing feature, including captions if you have a Creator account, outputting with your original video specs if you have an Enterprise account, and translating text to video.Once you’ve made your choices, click ‘Submit’ and you’re on your way.<img alt="some-file-e15af4ee-1aff-4132-912d-134343b6ca6c" src="https://d2xo500swnpgl1.cloudfront.net/uploads/heygen/some-file-e15af4ee-1aff-4132-912d-134343b6ca6c-1729036352535.gif"> <h3>Access and share your new video</h3>HeyGen will translate your video with your new Brand Voice.You can watch its progress in your video library.
